www.homenethelp.comThe SMC2632W is a 802.11b wireless Ethernet adapter from SMC Networks. It supports a maximum throughput of 11Mbps, has a built in antenna, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The card supports 64 or 128 bit encryption and allows ASCII pass phrase or manual hex entry of WEP keys.
One of the more striking features of the card is its operating system support. It comes with drivers for all flavors of Windows, Linux drivers (from http://www.linux-wlan.com), and even Windows CE in MIPS, SH3 and StrongArm varieties.
The card installed easily on both of our test machines (Windows 2000 and Windows 98SE) and were easy to configure using SMC’s configuration utility. About the only additional thing I would like to have seen is a more dynamic tray Icon. It displays green for linked and red for un-linked – It might be nice to have a graphic indicator of signal strength.

Re: Can not start SMC2632W under Win2k
Just a thought, I have smc PCMCI Card
and the firmware revision is rather strange, it is the first (revision) and the latest drivers on the website are for the second revision of the card only, and I should have figured that out by just knowing the part number. So the latest drivers would not work with the card, I had to download previous version off the SAME website,(now I have problems with utility, but that is another case)
Basically try installing previous version of the drivers

Re: Not connecting
Hi,

I have the same problem! Is there any solution to this or do I need to buy a new card? I hope that other cards don't have this problem and I hope they connect to my SMC 2804WBR router!

worst card ever :/
I brought a SMC wireless card for twice the price of a local card (which at least worked) and it hasn't worked for one day.. really a total waste of money
