Installing ICS - Installing ICS on Windows 2000
Now that your ICS computer can talk to the internet AND your home network, it is time to install ICS.
Setting up Internet Connection Sharing
Bring up your connections folder by right clicking on the 'My Network Places' icon on your desktop and selecting properties. Rick click on your Internet connection and select properties.
Click the ‘Sharing’ tab at the top of the window. Next click on the only checkbox available, ‘Enable Internet Connection Sharing…’. Click OK, and then ‘YES’ on the dialog box that appears explaining your new IP schema (don’t worry about this message).

That’s it!
The other computers on the network
We need to configure one more thing in the other computers on your home network. We will refer to these other computers as clients.

ICS Networking
The article on the above topic is easy to follow but frustrating when each step works as per the notes until the final step, of enabling file sharing on the internet connection when a second message appears to the effect of an invalid IP address. I susupect I have to go down the router route as ntl does not allow this method on it's cable broadband connection

Re: ICS Networking
Problem solved, I had left ZoneAlarm running on the server computer. It pays to to do EXACTLY as the notes says. I needn't have ordered an expensive router, oh well good experience
